CPEM2024 : Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements

There is no better conference than CPEM for all metrology volt-/amp-/ohm-/time-/farad-nuts. This is international bi-annual Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements. This year conference is back to USA land with NCSLI and NIST hosting the event in beautiful city of Denver, Colorado.

Types of organizations that usually participate at CPEM are the National Primary Standards Laboratories, big industrial organizations specializing in highest accuracy electrical test and measurement equipment manufacturers. Conference showcase the research and progress on precision measurements, standards and related fundamental constants study. Presenters at the CPEM are used to measure stuff not to ppm but to ppb levels daily and work with best stuff scientific and test instrumentation community can offer.

Attendance at CPEM is considered a must item for the researchers and metrologists who are at the frontier of improving and learning about best methods for electrical measurements. CPEM is focused to electromagnetic measurements at the highest accuracy levels, covering the frequency spectrum from DC to the optical region. The use of quantum effects and devices to achieve this accuracy is of particular focus. This conference cover the frequency spectrum from DC through the optical region well in THz.

xDevs participated already in two previous conferences (CPEM2020 and CPEM2022) as virtual attendee and it was amazing in the scope and huge amount of very interesting information and research results presented. I would expect that all traditional tracks will also be present in this year event as well, such as:

  • Voltage, Current, Resistance
  • RF and Microwave
  • Optics and Photonics
  • Electrical energy and power
  • High Voltage, High Current
  • Novel metrology
  • Kibble Balance (electrical part of it)
  • Quantum Voltage
  • Quantum Resistance
  • Quantum Impedance
  • Quantum others

Registration for in-person CPEM2024 is now open and available at a cost of US$1765 for non-members of NCSLI for full 5 days of conference. After May 15, 2024 late rate price will be increased to $1865 USD. You will be provided with details in the confirmation email with overall schedule already published. Hopefully virtual program to be available later on as well.

Every delegate must complete registration to access papers and presentations. Accommodation and travel expenses are not included and paid separately. There is also a possibility to join the tour at the state of the art NIST laboratories in Boulder, CO on July 11 or July 12.

This year I’ll be finally visiting the conference in person and presenting own research on performance of brand new Analog Devices ADR1000 zener devices. I’m also very excited to finally meet many fellow experts in voltage, resistance and quantum metrology in person and discuss many interesting topics. See you in Denver soon!
